Render & Cladding Cleaning

Revive Sussex

Render cleaning

An external render refers is a coat of plaster or cement mortar applied to a surface. Serving the dual purpose of shielding against rain infiltration and enhancing the building’s aesthetic appeal. A newly rendered building looks nice and clean, however, with time dirt and organic growth finds its way to the surface making it look not so nice and clean! Common issues include green, red or black algae.

Pressure washing render is not the default method. If the external wall is rendered with a hard wearing surface such as concrete or lime, it is prone to cracking with time. Pressure washing these surfaces can force water in the cracks, which can either expand the cracks and cause issues. Furthermore, the water sitting behind the crack could cause internal damp and long term issues to your asset.

Allen was very prompt, polite and attentive prior to us agreeing the scope of the works and discussing the likely results. He provided clear and reasonable estimates. He undertook the work quickly and without drama and delivered amazing results on my patio, pathway, driveway, guttering and cream coloured rendered walls. The results throughout are amazing and the walls look as though they’ve just been painted! Will definitely use again next Spring to brighten up the house after the winter.

Why should I soft wash my property?

Preventive Maintenance: Regular cleaning of external rendering can help prevent more severe issues down the line. Algae, moss, and mold growth, if left unchecked, can deteriorate the render and potentially lead to structural damage. Revive Sussex implements different techiniques to eliminate these growths. Using soft washing techniques, and a combination of chemicals and surfactants to kill the organic growth and kill the living bacteria, and create as clean of a surface possible.

Property Value: A well-maintained and clean exterior can significantly boost the market value of a property. If a building’s render looks fresh and clean, it can attract potential buyers or renters, leading to increased property value and potentially higher rental or sale prices.

Revive Sussex will assess the type of rendering on the property and take the necessary approach. A typical soft wash approach is taken, using a chemical scrub to kill of any organic growth and dirt.

Don’t worry, we use eco-friendly, biodegradable cleaning products that are also safe around pets & plants.

Cladding cleaning

Cladding is a material that is attached to the exterior of your building to form an outer weatherproof skin to the home. Similar to render, it attracts a variety of different dirt and organic growth that overtime makes the appear look less attractive.

Soft washing is a cleaning method we use to remove dirt, grime, algae, mold, mildew, and other contaminants from surfaces without using high-pressure water. It is a gentler and more specialized alternative to traditional high-pressure power washing. Soft washing also kills algae and spores, preventing future growth. The products we use are biodegradable and environmentally friendly. They are designed to be safe for plants, pets, and the surrounding environment.
